Stephanie Pierce
Pierce has been a faculty member at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville since 2007. Prior to that she earned her BFA from the Art Institute of Boston, and her MFA from the University of Washington, Seattle. She has exhibited her work throughout the U.S. and is represented in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Boston Public Library, Scholastic Corporation, and the Joan and Roger Sonnabend Collection, among others. Using everyday subjects such as a bed by a window, Pierce explores the shifting of time and light to create “a brief presence that threatens to fall apart.” References to literature and music heavily inform her work. Her first solo exhibition with Alpha Gallery was in 2011.
