Stephanie Pierce

Stephanie Pierce finds transcendence in images from everyday life. Using subjects such as a table by a window, or the garden in her back yard, Pierce explores the shifting of time and light to create “a brief presence that threatens to fall apart.”
Pierce has been a faculty member at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville and currently teaches at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She earned her BFA from the Art Institute of Boston, and her MFA from the University of Washington, Seattle. She has exhibited her work throughout the U.S. and is represented in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Boston Public Library, Scholastic Corporation, and the Walton Family Foundation, among others. Her first solo exhibition with Alpha Gallery was in 2011.
